Utena Cake

Here is a cake I made for my 21st birthday. It has a surprise inside!

I piped the rose crest from Revolutionary Girl Utena onto an oreo-buttercream-frosted cake, then filled in the "stained glass" with sugar sprinkles.

And when you cut into it - it's a rainbow inside! 3 layers of cake (blue, yellow and red) - with green frosting and orange frosting to finish off the gaps in the rainbow. Next time I try something like this, I think I will use bolder food coloring in the cake mix. This one was rather pastel (which was also cute).

Evolution - Revolution

I'm starting this blog as a way to share my change. I've had this great plan to change and learn all these things and be a better person... and I've been procrastinating a lot on those goals.
I guess this is sort of a way for me to keep track and also feel like I have some accountability (even though a blog really doesn't do that in itself).

Things that I have been wanting to do:

1) Learn to solve a Rubik's Cube
2) Learn to play the guitar
3) Lose weight
4) Start a vlog
5) Bake more, and post the stuff online
6) Draw more, and post that online
7) Also do video responses on my YouTube (along with the vlog)
8) Write music, and record it
9) Re-learn the Japanese hirigana and katakana charts

Those are sort of the top "I want to do this" things in my head. Let's look at the progress on those after the jump:
